Well, I don't blame you. ^_^ It's lots of fun and it can suck up more free time than you know what to do with. Before you can go anywhere though, you have to know where you're going, and should probably know a little about it. What follows is a partial list of the Transformers MU*s that exist, to my knowledge. There are others, such as TFX and TFV, but I don't know anything about them. If their directors would like to email me information on their MU*, I'll happily post it.

Set in present-day, Transformers 2 has a solid, stable theme grounded firmly in the first and second seasons of the cartoon. Since it's present day, the events of the Movie have not happened yet, and may or may not ever. While logins are currently low during North American daytime hours, evenings are usually lively, with regular and enjoyable TinyPlots.
Characters are given out by application, and are divided into two categories: FCs, or Feature Characters, which are characters introduced in the toys/cartoon or by staff members, and PCCs, or Player-Created Characters, which should be self-explanatory.
Of note is the fact that this MUSH is fully Pueblo-enhanced, for people using that client. TF2 is just emerging from a dry spell, having had some downtime for recoding, and is thus smaller in playerbase than some other TF MUSHes, but is picking up rapidly. MudNet: 2k5
Filling the niche of the third-season, post-Movie era, Transformers: 2005 is one of the oldest TF MUSHes still running, and arguably one of the more popular, and sports one of the highest daytime activity levels for North American players.
Characters are given out by application, and are divided roughly the same way as TF2, except that PECs are called OCs, for Original Characters. OCs can be limiting at 2k5: they must be generated with a fixed amount of 'points', much like GURPS, and sometimes lack the RP opportunities that FCs have.
Nevertheless, 2k5's coding is quite well-developed, and it possesses a rich universe with many available FCs. Check out the web page or login as a Guest for more information.

MudNet: Lostyears
The Lost Years has a theme unique among TF MUSHes. Set on Cybertron in the years following the departure of Optimus and Megatron's starships, it explores the untold stories of the Autobots and Decepticons left behind on Cybertron. North American daytime logins are relatively low, but activity picks up a little in the evenings. Although few organized Tinyplots exist, RP is frequent, as the MUSH possesses a small but loyal playerbase.
Characters are given out by application, and are divided into PECs (Pre-Existing Characters, called FCs most other places) and PCCs. Because of the fact that most of the Feature Characters were on the Ark and the Conquest with Optimus and Megatron respectively, FCs are few here, permitting TLY the rare opportunity to focus almost entirely on Player-Created Characters.
Although the playerbase is small, TLY is worth checking out if you want a fresh theme where nothing is set in stone. It has a very informal atmosphere and a merit-based PCC application procedure. Check out the web page or login as a guest for more info.

MudNet: Tuniverse
A fledgling MUX in what seems to be its early stages, TFU is set in roughly present-day, with the addition of GI Joe and Cobra. Roleplay is mostly interpersonal, though TPs are occasionally scheduled, and the list of available characters is impressive, including not only most of the pre-Movie Feature Characters, but also many original characters created by staff. The active playerbase is small despite the large number of characters often logged in, which are usually alts.
Characters are given out by application, and are divided up into the predictable categories. Original Characters are awarded on the basis of application merit as with TF2, and are not confined to a point scale. Because the theme includes Autobots, Decepticons, GI Joe, and Cobra, there are a vast number of FCs available to be played.
TFU is in need of players. Check out the web page or login as a Guest to find out more about it.
